3MHz probe can normally pick up baby's heartbeat as early as 10-12 weeks gestation. It is the best early term and general purpose Doppler probe, and is used by most healthcare providers. It will work very well through most full term pregnancies.
2MHz probe was designed to accommodate late term and heavier pregnancies since it works best at 10cm and deeper depths.
4MHz/5MHz vascular probe for deeper vascular applications.
8MHz probe for superficial vascular applications.
